2nd composition competition 2008

Composers of any age and nationality are invited to present new works

RULES

• Compositions must not have been performed previously nor awarded a prize
  
• The pieces should be written for 12 strings (4,3,2,2,1)
  
• The duration must be between 8 and 12 minutes
  
• Two anonymous copies identified by a pseudonym
  
• A sealed envelope, marked with the pseudonym, must accompany the scores and should contain the composer's name, address, and curriculum vitae
  
• Only one entry per composer will be accepted
  
• Entry fee of €40. International cheques or Bank Draft Payable to:

• The jury will select one work, which will be performed at the Manoel Theatre, Malta on the 29th April 2008 by the Rotterdam Young Ensemble conducted by Roberto Beltran.
  
• The Prize winner will receive a commission of €1000 for the 2nd International String Orchestra Festival 2009.
  
• The jury reserves the right not to award a prize if a suitable level is not reached
  
• The jury’s decision is final and cannot be contested
