Glastonbury New Talent 2008 Goes Live – Online – On November 30th 2007
Are you in a band? Or think you’ve got what it takes? Glastonbury Festival is waiting to hear from you…online!
Glastonbury Festival is proud to announce the launch of the Glastonbury New Talent 2008 competition – a search for unsigned bands and solo artists who may earn themselves a slot on one of Worthy Farm’s famous main stages.
To celebrate the fourth year of our most popular competition ever, the Festival has teamed up with media partners Q Magazine, and Glastonbury New Talent 2008 will be run EXCLUSIVELY online.
The competition is open to UK (or Irish-based) artists not signed to a major label. Artists can enter by uploading up to two tracks onto the website by following the link below:
Once again the overall winners will earn themselves a slot on either the Other Stage or the Pyramid Stage, following in the footsteps of past winners Liz Green (2007), the Deadbeats (2005) and the Subways (2004).
“It’s been very exciting to have been involved in this competition since the beginning,” says Festival organiser Emily Eavis, who will also sit on the judging panel.
“Now we are moving to digital entries, our net will be wider. I am sure we will be able to find some incredible new bands out there. It’s great for the competition, and most importantly, it will be a great contribution to the Festival.”
Glastonbury New Talent 2008, in association with Q, goes live from 9pm on November 30th 2007 at www.Q4music.com. The deadline for uploading entries is 11pm on January 27th 2008.

Every Festival since 2004 we've run a special competition, giving bands and performers not signed to major labels an opportunity to play on major stages. On average we've received around 2,000 demo's each year. This year Liz Green played the Pyramid and Acoustic stages as the competition's Overall Winner for 2007.
You can read this exclusive interview with Liz at the Festival, straight off the Pyramid Stage.
Our previous Overall Winners were The Subways in 2004, and The Deadbeats in 2005.
We're expecting to post details of how to enter the competition to play Glastonbury in 2008 on December 1st.
We're sorry this date has been put back. The competition has been undergoing some changes. Thank you for your patience.
The other "Stage Winners" for 2007 were...
The Grim Northern Social, who played the John Peel Stage;
Feluka, the Jazz World Stage; and
Dr Meaker, the Dance Village.
The Epstein also played the Acoustic Stage as official runners-up.
Dozens of other competition entrants played stages and tents around the site - a complete list can be found here.
