GEOFFREY GILBERT FLUTE ROOM FUNDRAISING CONCERT
Friday 15 February at 7.30pm
Guildhall School Music Hall
Geoffrey Gilbert was one of the pioneers of British flute-playing as
well as a former teacher at the Guildhall School. He introduced both the
silver flute and the French style of flute playing into this country and
Sir James Galway and William Bennett, two of the world's foremost
performers, are numbered among his former students. This concert
celebrates his lasting achievement and to aims to raise money in support
of naming a teaching studio at the Guildhall School in honour of
Geoffrey Gilbert.
Admission is free and audience members will be able to join the
performers for a glass of wine after the concert. There will be a
collection for donations at the end of the concert.
