Cat No: FRCD20

The Freerange Colour Series hits number 5 in full-on orange day-glo glory and with a assortments of delights that’ll make you glad your ears are still in full working order. In keeping with the concept for the Colour Series, Orange 05 pools together some of the biggest Freerange tracks from the past year and intersperses them with four brand new exclusives to give a nicely packaged, bang up to date round up of the Freerange sound for those who still like a bit of product in their possession in return for their hard earned cash. Big hitters such as Manuel Tur’s Acorado and Milton Jackson’s Cycles sit amongst some really deep spacey business like Rocco’s The Revolution and Jimpster’s Dangly Panther.  All these are tried and tested discerning dancefloor favourites but for those looking for the new stuff Milton Jackson offers up a little beauty entitled Soundtron. Following hot on the heels of his amazing Ghosts In My Machines track on our 100th release, it seems MJ has hit a rich vein of form coming up with heavy stand out tracks that get the floor hyped whilst retaining a deep and underground vibe.  We’re also very happy to introduce relative newcomers Nitzan & Lasimo who some may know through Nitzan’s excellent Fine Art label.  Placetum is an amazingly simple yet effective stripped back electronic slice of house which uses deep chord stabs and a wriggly acid line to devastating effect.  A set opener or real late night head bender, either way, something very special we feel. There are also two tracks from two different up and coming Belgian producers who Jimpster came across on a recent visit to Brussels as part of his continual quest for the perfect beer. (and to play tunes).  Compuphonic aka Maxime Firket is straight out of the Spirit Catcher/Only Freak school of disco and boogie infused house which never fails to cause a stir on the dancefloor.  Jaguar Running is all about the big syncopated synth stabs and a crisp, driving drum groove.  Uplifting, funky, deep and strangely majestic all at the same time. Rounding things off in suitably wide screen style is Homerun with a track entitled The Dreamers.  Quite hard to try and describe this one so just give it a listen but we’re thinking somewhere in between Kraftwerk, Art Of Noise, Daft Punk and Kenny Larkin.
