BPI Announces New Training CoursesPosted on June 18th, 2013 by Lee Jarvis in Music Industry News
The British Phonographic Industry (BPI) has set up a new initiative for their members, aimed to educate and train record labels and independent businesses with the ‘expert know-how’ to make their way in the ever-changing music industry.
The BPI is the trade group for the UK record industry, who also organise the BRIT Awards shows and co-run the Official Charts Company. Members include major record labels, distributors, manufacturers and many other independent music companies. Therefore, it would seem that they are an important contact and a reputable source for music industry training and education.
The first of the new training sessions kicks off this week, with workshops on Cost Effective Digital Marketing running in Wednesday 19th June, and Cloud Services and Digital Deal Structure on Thursday 20th June. These sessions will be led by music industry professionals from Amplifi, Essential Distribution and Believe Digital.
BPI’s Director of Independent Member Services, Chris Tams, said, “The BPI sees training and development as vital to the success of any company. The forthcoming sessions on marketing and cloud services represent a prime opportunity to learn from some of the leading names in digital business. We’re delighted to be able to offer the courses free of charge to BPI members and look forward to building a programme of events throughout the year to equip labels and music organisations with the contacts and knowledge that will help their businesses to grow.”
The BPI will continue the series of workshops throughout the year; future courses include Getting Airplay, Selling in Overseas Markets, Understanding Industry Finance and Royalty Payments, Protecting Against Piracy and much more.
Details of future courses will be announced shortly.
