New Music Biennial
Posted on January 7th, 2013 by UK Music Jobs in Competitions, Music Industry News
PRS for Music Foundation has announced the launch of the first ever UK-wide New Music Biennial – supporting and promoting up to twenty brand new commissions by some of the UK’s most exciting composers to be performed across the country and at two special weekend events at London’s Southbank Centre (4-6 July 2014) and Glasgow UNESCO City of Music to coincide with the Commonwealth Games (2-3 August 2014)
This international celebration will showcase the talent of the UK’s music sector, raise the profile of composers and performers, and present a snapshot of new music across all genres. New Music Biennial follows in the hugely successful footsteps of New Music 20×12, PRS for Music Foundation’s Cultural Olympiad programme.
The call for proposals from organisations from any part of the UK is now OPEN. Click here http://www.prsformusicfoundation.com/Partnerships/Flagship-Programmes/New-Music-Biennial/Submission-Guidelines/ for more information.
The deadline for submissions will be 4th March 2013. PRS will support 20 commissions, each lasting no longer than 15 minutes.
