The Black Keys UK and Europe Tour
Posted on September 23rd, 2011 by Lee Jarvis in touringI’m a huge fan of The Black Keys, and was happy to hear that tickets have just gone on sale for a headline tour of Europe in January and February 2012. They will be playing gigs in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Holland and the UK, ending with a sure to be stellar show at Alexandra Palace in London.
The Black Keys have releases six studio albums over the past decade, with the 2010 LP, ‘Brothers‘, picking up no less than three Grammys. This added to their already huge reach, after various songs being chosen for video games, commercials, movie themes, TV shows and more, cementing them as a global name.
This early 2012 tour will take in 12 gigs across seven countries in three weeks, a fairly hectic schedule that sees The Keys play at select larger venues while keeping ticket prices reasonable. Some venues are a small step up in capacity from their last tour, which is great news in the current climate – after a tough couple of years in the large venue live scene, a band can still build their live schedule where many over-priced pop acts have had to cut back and cancel dates. Onwards to that seventh album!
