Ambitious young London-based artist management company/record label is seeking an exceptionally talented scout to join the family.

Duties include:

- Attending and reporting on shows/gigs/festivals on behalf of the company

- Organising/attending meetings with bands and managers

- Presenting weekly A&R meetings to the Managing Director

- Negotiating with potential new signings to the artist roster

- Studio work with our signed acts to produce music for commercial release

- Some product management and PR work

This position would ideally suit a second or third year university student in London, who is looking to become part of a growing company and put most (if not all) of their free time helping the business expand. We are looking to sign as many as 5 new acts in the next 6 months, and thus the A&R function of the company is critical to acheive this goal.

The candidate must:

- have a friendly and open-minded personality (we have no time for whingers or glory-hunters).

- COMMUNICATE and put the goals of the business before their own personal agenda.

- be willing to learn.

- live and breathe new/popular music, regularly attend gigs and be on the pulse of whats coming up in a wide range of music scenes before the competition does.

- ideally have their own contacts network in the London and major music town areas.

- have some experience in the music industry (e.g. at a record label, artist management company, publisher, booking agency, etc).

This is a highly sought-after position, particularly with media in general being hit hard by the recession, and the successful candidate will be expected to become responsible for their own roster of acts after an initial trial period. Please only apply if you suit the above description.
