This vacancy was posted on 08/03/10 Howdy folks, would you like to play at one of London's friendliest venues? Want to be on bills that have been put together with a bit of thought? Want to be paid all the door rather than some insulting percentage? Read on...
We are looking for new bands. Plusses are influenced by Flaming Lips, Sonic Youth, Byrds, bluesy, punky, melodic, electronic, folky, Balkan, Latin, leftfield, twee, shoegaze, ambitious. Bands with females in (never enough), bands with keyboards, bands that are different, bands that make the crowd go woo. Or bands that are so beautiful they make the crowd go ah.
We also have a couple of shows a month that are mainly dance oriented music so if any jazz, funk, trip hop electronica or similar then we may have a home for you too.
We are not interested in bands that cannot or will not pull their own weight publicity wise as we feel that promotion should be a collective effort between bands and venue. We advertise and market everywhere and always attract passing trade so if bands that we book pull their weight too then we have a great atmosphere so if you can attract at least 25 people (and we will pay you ALL the door) to see you at a weekend and 15 during the week then please get in touch.
