About The Job
The organisation, which exists to promote challenging contemporary music and sound art, is seeking to appoint a new Chief Executive following a detailed review of its mission and structure.
The appointment is being made as Arts Council England has confirmed the organisation's National Portfolio funding status based on the organisation’s new strategic plan which will see it foster a high profile, high quality platform from which contemporary music and sound art can prosper.
The Chief Executive will therefore be appointed at an exciting time with the opportunity to lead the development of the restructured organisation to meet the aspirations of its key stakeholders from composers, sound and sonic artists and musicians to producers, promoters, publishers, orchestras, educators and consumers.
To qualify for this role which carries responsibility for ensuring that the organisation becomes the beacon for the sector, nurturing audiences, the industry and artists, the new Chief Executive will have an in-depth knowledge of at least one genre of music and sound, with a broad appreciation of other genres and art forms. They will be a visionary leader who can develop and deliver all aspects of the organisation’s strategy, providing both artistic and business leadership. Strong communication skills, good stakeholder and people management skills, an ability to represent the interests of the organisation’s constituencies at the highest levels, regionally, nationally and internationally, are all key requirements for the job.
Closing date for applications: 15th March 2012.
The company is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all sectors of the community.
