We are one of the world’s leading catalogues of classical and educational music. Our diverse and award-winning sales list is of the highest quality and includes a range of choral music, instrumental titles for young players, songbooks, and the music of many leading British composers.

We seek an experienced and creative Commissioning Editor to commission, develop, and publish new titles across the list. Core duties include evaluating submissions, building and maintaining contacts with a range of composers and authors, developing projects with colleagues, managing the editorial team, and supervising the process from manuscript to bound copy.

The job-holder will work closely with the Head of Department in developing the list to enhance its profitability and reputation.

The successful candidate will have extensive music editorial and commissioning experience, high levels of music literacy with a practical understanding of either choral or easy instrumental music, an excellent eye for detail, computer skills, and a working knowledge of Sibelius software. S/he will also have effective communication and management skills, and be able to deal pragmatically with a busy and varied workload under pressure and to tight deadlines.
