This vacancy was posted on 03/07/09 An opportunity now exits to conduct this talented and committed group. The conductor will be compensated for their time – but the real reward will be in realising the varied musical talents of this popular ensemble.
As conductor the applicant would be expected to have the necessary skills and experience to rehearse and perform the group on a regular basis. (Every Monday evening during term time at SU). There are 2 to 3 concerts each term which the conductor will be expected to take and compere. Should the position be granted to the applicant they will receive payment of £900 for the academic year (£300 each term for three terms).
The applicant would be expected to hold at least a music degree and have a good knowledge of classical and contemporary wind band repertoire.
