Our client is seeking a highly experienced Event Manager for a permanent role based in Doha, Qatar.

This position will assist in the overall planning and management of the concert experience at the Arab Orchestra, and Traditional Music concert events. Working in coordination with Artistic and Marketing personnel, the objective is to establish a comfortable and inviting multi-cultural concert environment that attracts and retains patrons.

Your responsibilities will include:

1. Create an inviting and inclusive concert environment recognizable throughout a diverse number of venue settings and resources that is capable of developing and retaining an audience.
2. Manage concert events and regularly interact with patrons to make them feel welcome and involved in the concert experience.
3. Promote a tangible sense of ownership among patrons.
4. Design and author print and new media material directed toward new listeners.
5. Create new relationships within diverse multi-cultural communities.
6. Participate in designing volunteer and patrons associations and participate in active recruitment activities.
7. Facilitate interaction between patrons and artistic leaders plus musicians.
8. Assist Marketing, PR, personnel identify and engage emerging members of the core audience.
9. Be familiar with international best practice standard for creating an inclusive concert environment. Attend all QSO and Arab Orchestra concert events and interact with patrons in attendance.


To apply for this role you should possess the following experience:

1. A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, arts, or a similar discipline from a globally accredited university.
2. Other degrees or certificates in event management or public interpretation preferred.
3. Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and basic HTML.
4. Excellent interpersonal skills in a multi-cultural environment.
5. Ability to maintain composure and a sense of humour in a high stress environment.

You should also have the following:

1. Relevant experience in areas such as marketing, public relations, event management, or public interpretation in a performing arts organization setting preferred.
2. Demonstrated success in developing and implementing successful audience development strategies.
3. Entrepreneurial experience a plus.
4. Knowledge of traditional Western European classical music repertoire and ideally but not essentially traditional Arabic Music repertoire, and their respective concert environments.
