Our client is seeking a highly experienced Head of Music Library for a permanent role based in Doha, Qatar.

The Head of Music Library is responsible for the orchestra scores library which needs to be set up and attended and arranging music scores as well as staying in touch with publishers and setting up contracts with them.

Your responsibilities will include the following areas:

1. A new library has to be build up
2. Organizing, arranging publications scores for the orchestra library
3. Ordering, archiving, managing of publications and orchestra materials
4. Storing of material in a proper way – material should always be in good condition
5. Working together with other offices to order and hire material, publications
6. Preparation of material for rehearsals and concerts
7. Information point of offices and musicians in regards to organizing and informing about new scores

8. Material to be proofed on delivery and necessary steps for payment to be taken
9. Hiring, buying of scores
10. Looking for special editions scores material and publication
11. Set up and observe contracts with publisher
12. No contracts: Request for indemnity and hire fees
13. Working together with the Music Sheet corrector – preparing the work
14. From time to time looking for news in catalogues and publications.
15. Special editions for studies, performances and more will be offered and archived

To apply for this role you should possess the following experience:

1. Secondary education & studies of musicology
2. Fluent English and possibly Arabic
3. Flexible, stress resistant, capable of multitasking, friendly and open-minded
4. Very good computer skills: Windows Office, OPAS
5. Several years of work experience preferably in an orchestra, opera, theatre
6. Must have high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

7. Musical education preferred
8. Flexible, stress resistant, capable of multitasking, friendly and open-minded
9. A few years of work experience preferably with an orchestra
10. Strong communication skills with the ability to interface with personnel at all levels of the Company.
11. Excellent organizational skills, positive attitude and ability to work in a fast paced environment.
