Cultural Co-operation vacancy for LDC Network Co-ordinator
Cultural Co-operation (CC) is an independent London-based arts & education charity established in 1987. Its mission is to increase inter-cultural contact, dialogue & understanding. CC’s programme comprises 3 inter-related strands: Festival (the summer Music Village) Education & Network - London: Diaspora Capital (LDC).
The LDC network is a unique voluntary sector resource that CC initiated in 1998 in response to demand from diverse London-based artists in many genres and from industry professionals – promoters, venues, producers, Local Authorities etc - wanting to expand their programme offer. It provides free networking, promotional, peer mentoring and professional development services to artists in London’s diaspora communities, including refugees & asylum seekers.
As part of a small team led by the Head of Operations under the strategic leadership of the Chief Executive, you will take primary responsibility for managing day-to-day LDC Network archives and activity and sustaining CC’s excellent relationships with individual Network members. This includes:
Archive
• Recording, updating, maintenance and analysis of all existing and new information relating to Network Members currently held in CC’s database and digital archive;
• drawing upon this information to produce periodic internal reports to keep CC alert to short and medium-term opportunities and help guide the continuous, long-term strategic development of the Network;
• co-ordinating the creation of new profiles for new members interested in joining, and removing those of existing members who no longer wish to be involved
Activity
• attending gigs/exhibitions/rehearsals to sound out possible new members from under-represented communities, artforms and Local Authorities
• co-ordinating/managing London: Diaspora Live! radio shows on Resonance FM;
• producing/disseminating the fortnightly newsletter;
• helping to set up & run regular network events, training seminars and 1-1 surgeries
Relationships
• maintaining regular phone and email communication with Network members to track individual and sector-wide developments and keep members informed of suitable opportunities
• general adminstration
Salary: £19,713 - £21,606pa. Fixed term 12-month contract: November 2008-October 2009
