We are seeking an experienced Manager to join our Department.

Reporting to: Head of Department

Key responsibilities:

1. Managing a prestigious client portfolio including key and long-term partnerships
2. Planning and booking high-profile concerts, tours, special projects and
residencies across the globe often to tight deadlines in a highly pressurised
environment
3. Liaising daily with senior management of top-level halls, promoters, PR agencies,
suppliers etc.
4. Negotiating fees, conditions and detailed contracts for artists, orchestras,
recordings, broadcasts
5. Producing and managing complex budgets of up to £500,000, including
projections and analysis
6. Establishing business connections in new/developing markets as agreed and
generating reports
7. Devising and implementing creative strategy with and for an existing client
portfolio. Working with each client to devise bespoke strategies
8. Contributing to the creation, development and implementation of department
strategy
9. Identifying and pursuing opportunities for client acquisition
10. Heading territory-specific initiatives in various parts of the world
11. Seeking, where possible, to create opportunities for Intermusica artist
collaborations
12. Maintaining an up-to-date awareness of market developments, trends and news
13. Ultimate responsibility for all logistical arrangements undertaken by the Tour
Manager.
14. Line-managing an administrator
15. Acting as an ambassador for the company and Department at important
Meeting/conferences/events


Person specification:

Knowledge:
1. Thorough knowledge of classical music, particularly the orchestral repertoire
2. Understanding and awareness of the activities and issues within the sector at national and
international levels
3. Understanding the relationship between the performance of the individual employee and the
success of a small business
4. Working knowledge of MS office, database software and internet browser


Experience:

1. Proven track-record in managing high-level international orchestral tours
2. Promoting or selling artistic ‘product’
3. Developing and maintaining strong personal contacts internationally - orchestras, artists,
venues, promoters, festivals etc
4. Dealing with and supporting demanding and exacting clients, in person and by phone
5. Creating project budgets and working creatively within tight budgetary guidelines
6. Developing and managing complex projects
7. Dealing with media (television & radio) and negotiating with record labels
8. Working within a close-knit and interdependent team
