Due to the continued expansion of the company, we have an exciting opportunity within our Marketing Department. After initial training, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Marketing Manager in all areas of the Company’s Marketing Programme which includes advertising, press releases, brochure production, database management and e-mail marketing.
Whilst being a diverse role there is one key area of responsibility which is managing the Company’s Advertising and Business Opportunities Programme: The successful person will be solely responsible for this area and this will involve negotiating rates, building relationships and liaising on a regular basis with various media outlets (magazines, publications etc) as well as spotting potential business opportunities and approaching other organisations such as tourist boards, airlines and hoteliers in order to negotiate monetary assistance with our marketing campaigns. It is therefore essential that the successful candidate will have strong negotiating skills and business development experience.
This position is a full time role. Office hours are 7 ½ hrs per day Monday to Friday. The company operates a Flexible Working Programme for all full time staff, which allows staff to choose on a weekly basis the “band” they would like to work. The bands are as follows:
Band A 08.00 – 16.30hrs
Band B 08.30 – 17.00hrs
Band C 09.00 – 17.30hrs
Band D 09.30 – 18.00hrs
Band E 10.00 – 18.30hrs
Whilst the Flexible Working Programme is intended to give flexibility to all full time staff it is also important to ensure that all departments are covered between the hours of 08.30 – 17.30 and therefore it is at the discretion of each Departmental Manager to change the bands of their staff accordingly if necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have:
·Qualifications and / or experience in Marketing.
In addition the ideal candidate will also need to be:
·Organised
·Creative
·Able to write accurate and interesting literature
·Interested in business development
·An excellent negotiator
Any of the following skills would be a bonus but not essential for the role:
·Linguist skills
·Musical
·Interested in travel
·Knowledge of the travel industry
·Knowledge of Scouting and Guiding
BENEFITS
The successful candidate will become part of our close knit team. At present we have 50 employees, the majority of which work from our office in Derby. We are currently based off Uttoxeter Old Road but will be moving to Pride Park later this year. This role would involve working in our Marketing Department. The job holder would be entitled to:
A competitive basic salary (£18k - £23k dependant on experience)
A bonus scheme based on Company Net Profit.
22 days holiday per year (increasing with length of service to a maximum of 25 days) in addition to all public holidays.
