We are a young London originals band already attracting offers of publishing and recording deals, and with several UK festival slots confirmed for summer 09, require representation.
The band is relatively new though all members were previously in various signed acts & have extensive studio, tour, festival, TV & radio experience, having played alongside Get Cape Wear Cape Fly, Foals, Brakes, Idlewild, The Band's Garth Hudson and many many more. Members ages range from early to mid twenties.
Live appearances so far have included festivals and universities plus support slots for The Charlatans' Tim Burgess and Alabama 3.
The music is distinctive: radio friendly UK americana - stateside country blues in the vein of JJ Cale and Little Feat, brought up to date with the energy of contemporary UK indie guitar bands like Kasabian & The Charlatans. Emphasis is on punchy, catchy hooks.
The band have an album completed and are now at the stage where they would welcome the involvement of a dedicated artist manager with existing industry contacts to put together a plot to release the record, generate publicity and ultimately attract the interest of larger investors.
A major London PR company would like to work with the band on a single release, although the band are still keeping their options open and have not yet made a final decision on how best to proceed.
The band are particularly interested in finding an individual with a flair for sales and promotion who would, either personally or by co-ordinating the services of agents:
- Book further live shows, with an emphasis on growing the fanbase
- Generate press coverage and radio play
- Ultimately attract a range of offers of investment, from "traditional" record labels, publishing companies etc and/or more modern "DIY" sources, e.g. PR companies, independent pluggers, venture capitalists etc etc
Whilst working with the band the artist manager would naturally receive a percentage of all income generated, including a percentage of any advance due for contracts that they negotiate.
Ideally the relationship would be ongoing, with the manager as "6th band member" and continually benefitting from a percentage of all income, although the band are willing to listen to offers of shorter term involvement.
Images and sample tracks are available on MySpace.
Applicants should telephone in the first instance for a brief informal discussion.
