Level/Grade: With 3+ years of experience of film making - though the successful candidate may still be in training or looking for a first opportunity after finishing a related professional course.
Type of position: Voluntary/Expenses :: Intern
Hours: P/T temporary position for 2 months – with the opportunity for further role development in the future.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
We would like to engage a semi-experienced/trainee film producer on a voluntary/expenses only basis to work along side the Director and Music Artist in the creation of a 4/5 minute music video shot on location in and around Edinburgh, Scotland.
The role involves the creation of the scenes and conditions for making the film. The successful candidate, will initiate co-ordinate, supervise and take an overview of matters such as budgeting and hiring key personnel.
The producer will be involved throughout all phases of the film-making process from the development to the completion of the project.
Key roles:
a) Hiring voluntary staff (or expenses based workers) for key roles in the production
b) Planning and organising all aspects of the shoot and the production team with The Director
c) Working with, and reporting to, The Director / Managing Director in planning meetings
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Three years experience of film making & one or more years experience of film production and ideally of music video production
At least two previous productions as Producer (one in music film making would be preferred) and experience as Assistant Producer
Practical experience of the various roles in, and responsibilities of, the crewing of film and music video productions
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS / KEY REQUIRED SKILLS
. Arts based A’ Levels - the successful candidate have undertaken, or will be part way through a relevant degree or H. Ed course
. With a very high standard of organisational and communication, written skills and computer based/internet skills
. The ability to spot, and deal with, potential problems before they
. A thorough understanding of all the creative processes of filmmaking, including screenwriting, directing and editing
. To ensure compliance with regulations and codes of practice
. Controlling production expenditure
. Monitoring and controlling the progress of the production and report to the Director
. Identifying hazards, assessing the risks, and develop procedures to control risk
