This vacancy was posted on 01/04/09 We are looking for a new Musical Director to take over from Philip Collin, who is moving to London in the very near future after a very successful period with the choir.
The choir is a chamber choir of about 35 voices which is based in Stockport and has a varied repertoire which includes works from Palestrina to Copeland. Recent performancesinclude Haydn's 'Nelson Mass', Jonathan Willcocks 'A Great and Glorious Victory' 'Come and Sing Messiah' and last month a sell-out performance of 'Elijah' with the Gorton Philharmonic Orchestra. We plan an evening of Gilbert and Sullivan at the end of June.
We are looking for an experienced choral conductor who is able to take us forward from the excellent work done by Philip. It meets on a Tuesday evening close to Stockport town centre 7.45 - 9.45.
The salary is £1,440 pa, with concert fees of about £600 per year.
