Symphony Orchestra seeks to appoint a Musical Director to start Autumn, 2011, following the departure of its present MD to conduct in the professional sector. Our thriving and ambitious orchestra is composed of some 70 proficient amateur musicians. It rehearses on Wednesday evenings during the season to perform around six concerts each year, often to packed audiences. It specialises in music from the 19thC and 20thC for the larger orchestra.
