We seek an experienced Piano Accompanist for The Centre for Young Musicians, which is our Saturday music school that aims to enrich the lives of young people through music making. The Centre offers students ages 5 upwards an extensive curriculum including group and individual instrumental tuition, singing, musicianship, ensembles, as well as the Orchestra and Choirs of CYM Hackney, and its staff are all experienced music teachers and professional artists who foster a greater appreciation and understanding of different types of music.

The successful candidate will work alongside the Head of Vocal by accompanying choirs of various sizes. In addition, you will accompany large and small instrumental groups. Additional experience in a variety of musical genres preferred. The ability to transpose and improvise is essential. You must have experience of working with young children (5-7yrs). We are looking for a confident, committed and enthusiastic person who enjoys working with children of all ages and abilities.

The job will involve working on Saturdays between 9.30am and 1.30pm for 30 weeks each year starting in September 2008.

Salary: £3,000 gross flat fee (on a self-employed basis).
