is looking to fill this vacancy 06/08/08
We are the UK's premier resource centre for the study of jazz, blues and related music. Founded in 1988, it has assembled a world-class collection of books, journals, letters, photographs and other printed memorabilia for use by students, researches, the media and general enthusiasts.
To make its extensive collection available to a far wider audience than can physically visit the archive, application is to be made to the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) for help in digitising much of its material for access via the internet. To assist in the formulation of this bid, we have been awarded an interim grant to finance the creation of a detailed Project Plan for assessment by the HLF. The role of Project Manager will be to co-ordinate and consolidate the activities of a number of specialist consultants, each of whom will be responsible for completely particular aspects of the Plan and its associated policies. Candidates should be knowledgeable Project Managers, preferably with a relevant qualification, and ideally with skills gained in the fields of museums, archives and the arts. The Project Plan has to be submitted to the HLF by the end of March 2009, so this role is most likely to be of interest to a freelance consultant who is shortly available and can devote the majority of their time to the assignment.
The fee will be at the rate of £25,000 per annum, pro rata, taking into account availability and possible commitments of the successful candidate.
If you feel that your skills and knowledge could help us achieve our aims please email your CV highlighting in a covering letter your suitability for the role and your availability. We are an equal opportunities employers.
Closing date: 30th August 2008.
