About The Job

We are seeking to recruit a teaching assistant to support their team of music production teachers and assist in the delivery of BTEC accredited courses.

Experience of working with young people is essential. This could be in teaching support, youth work, community workshops or youth diversionary activities.

The ideal candidate would have:
· Knowledge of specialist music technology (Cubase 5, Logic 9, Reason 4)
· Knowledge of film (Final Cut Pro, iMovie); Animation (iStopMotion) Web (Dreamweaver, iWeb, Photoshop) is desirable but not essential
· Experience of working as an assistant to a qualified teacher

Teaching assistants should be practical and proactive with technical skills in IT and music and media software and equipment.

Applicants should be confident and outgoing with a passion for helping young people to succeed. Ideally you will have music production skills and an excellent level of literacy and numeracy. Knowledge of health & safety or first aid desirable.

Also required is
· a willingness to learn;
· good timekeeping skills;
· reliability and trustworthiness;
· the confidence to communicate with young people;
· knowledge of urban music eg UKG and Grime
· Knowledge / experience of 'at risk' youth and youth issues

Training and clear progression pathways to teaching and support roles are available. Teaching assistants must be CRB-checked or willing to undergo a check.

This position is for 24 hours per week with a starting salary of £6.08 per hour, on a fixed term contract of 4 months. Training and development opportunities are also available.
