This vacancy was posted on 17/11/09 We are a community media company, is looking for experienced, energetic and inspirational Media Tutors to deliver short courses for adults and young people in South East London.
We are planning to deliver a range of media training courses and projects in community settings across Southwark, with some courses starting in early December and in the following months. We need freelance tutors with expertise in the following topics:
- Introduction to Radio Production
- Jingle making
- Web skills and social networking
- Journalism
- DJ skills
As tutor, you will be responsible for:
- Developing schemes of work, lessons plans, preparing materials for lesson and delivering media training to a high standard;
- Monitoring students’ progress, evaluating sessions, preparing course reports and any administrative duties related to project delivery;
- Working with a Teaching Assistant, who will support course delivery.
Essential requirements:
- Relevant qualification related to your specialism;
- Experience of working in community settings with young people and / or adults (usually with English as a Second language);
- Experience of delivering accredited and / or non-accredited media training at community level;
- Proficient in relevant software related to your specialism (e.g. Adobe Audition);
- Current CRB check;
- Awareness of safeguarding young people’s and vulnerable adults practice;
- Experience of working in a team;
- Available during the week (afternoons, evenings) and possibly Saturdays (depending on course);
- Available to work on week days, from 8.30am to 5pm.
