  2. What information is needed to register?

Click here for a step-by-step breakdown on how to fill out the registration form, as well as some extra hints to help you along the way.

  3. What is the difference between my PROFILE and my CV?

Your ''PROFILE'' is your individual registration on Music Jobs. This incorporates all of your information including your uploaded media items (Word CV/documents, MP3s & video files), your professional networking features, your friends list, your messages, your application history & your email settings. Your ''CV'' is all the professional information you can store on the site which promotes you to prospective employers. This is not the same as your uploaded Word CV which you can attach in addition to completing the fields we provide. We strongly recommend populating all the fields we provide under our CV section in order to fully advertise your skills & experience to the industry.

  4. Now that I've registered, how do I complete and edit my online CV?

Login and click on ''PROFILE'' in the menu bar. Locate the ''MAIN CV'' tab in the center of the screen. To the left of that tab is a small arrow, and by clicking on it a drop down menu appears with the option to ''Edit CV''.

After clicking on "Edit CV" an accordion menu of selections will appear; which include settings, media files, contact details and your details.

    Select "Your Details"
The selections you can edit/update will also appear in an accordion style menu.

Look on your main profile page for tips on how to improve your CV, and reminders of empty sections within your profile. Your progress bar, which is on the right hand side of your main profile page, will keep you up to date on your current progress in completing your Music Jobs online profile.

Click here for more details on the sections to complete within your online profile.

Keep in mind, profiles are listed in order of those most recently updated, so it's a good idea to update as often as possible. This ensures that when employers search the profile database, yours will be at or near the top of the list.

  5. How do I create additional CVs?

As a paying member you can create up to 4 job type specific CVs on Music Jobs.
You can specify all texts, list selections and files uploaded for these CVs.

    What is that good for?

Applying for a job you can select which CV you wish to display.

How do I create an additional CV?
If you are a premium member, you will have a tab-selection on top of your main profile page.

Click on ''ACCOUNT SETTINGS'' to change password information. Click on ''EMAIL SETTINGS'' to choose what type of alerts you receive from us. 8. How do the e-mails work?

You will receive an email alert every time a job is posted that fits your selected criteria (job type and location), which you can use to apply directly to the job; your application includes a direct link to you online CV that the employer can access. You will also receive a weekly email entitled 'Here's Looking at You, Kid!' letting you know whenever a company has viewed your profile. It is important that your email address is correctly entered and remains up to date, as it is our primary means of contacting you.

  9. Where do you get your job vacancies?

We scour the internet to bring you all kinds of quality music jobs; job vacancies are also posted by the employers themselves. Registered subscribers can apply for these jobs either by responding to the email alert, or by scanning the jobs board and clicking "contact the employer". We recommend always including a covering letter with your application. Lastly, it is worth noting that while the jobs board is very popular and proving to be a great success, most positions are filled by employers using the search facility to find people.

  10. Can I apply to any job I like?

While we understand your desire to have your profile viewed by as many companies as possible, we do request that you only apply for positions which match your qualifications and experience. For instance, when a job says "3 years experience in executive music licensing required", this should read as off-limits to an intern. We ask you follow this simple rule so that employers receive the applicants they are looking for, and therefore will continue to use the Music Jobs site.

  11. What is the Forum?

This is where you can network with a growing community of music professionals, either by putting up a notice, joining in one of the ongoing discussions, or just having a browse.

  12. How can I link people directly to my Music Jobs profile?

Only paying members can take advantage of this option. To find your URL address, simply click on your profile. At the top, you will see "This personal page is also available at:," followed by your personal URL.

  13. How can I cancel my subscription?

Monthly subscribers can cancel at any time they wish. Simply login then click "MY PROFILE" on the menu bar. Then select 'ACCOUNT SETTINGS' on the right hand side menu bar. You will then see the option to 'CANCEL'.

  14. How can I delete my profile?

You can adjust your privacy settings under 'MY PROFILE' to hide your profile and switch off your alerts. Alternatively please email us on uk-info@music-jobs.com order to remove your details entirely from the site
