• What is AIM Instant Messenger?
  This lets you chat live with any other UK Music Jobs member who has AIM switched 'on', via your screen.
  You can choose to have it 'on', and your name will be visible when you log on to UK Music Jobs, or 'off' in which case no-one will know you are there. If you switch it 'off' it will stay off every time you log on to UK Music Jobs, until you choose to switch it on again, and vice versa.
  To control your AIM setting, click on the AIM link at the top right corner of every UK Music Jobs page.

• How can I contact someone?
  Click on the "aim:on" link at the top right corner of every UK Music Jobs page, and that will call up the AIM control box. Doubleclick on a person's name on the list in the AIM control box then type in the message and click Send

• Clearing text from the screen
  When the screen fills with text click Clear

• Closing the window
  First Clear the screen of text then either click Close or the 'x' in the top right hand corner

• I don't wish to accept a contact
  If you click the off button (in the aim control centre) you will remove yourself from aim, you'll be hidden until you decide to make yourself appear again (by toggling the aim button in the main menu bar).

• There seems to be a delay
  It's possible a person showing as being online is away from their computer, or has just logged off.

• "A Runtime error has occurred. Do you wish to Debug?"
  If you see this message open Internet Explorer - click Tools - Internet Options - Advanced. Make sure Disable script debugging is ticked and Display a notification about every script error is unticked then Apply

• Administrator
  You may see UK Music Jobs administrators online, and you can reach them live online as long as they are in front of their computers - doubleclick on a name for support.

The control centre (Everything below the black bar on the left)

	sends the message you have typed
	takes you to the lovely Instant Messenger help file
	links through to the sender's profile
	removed you from aim, you will not appear again until you turn aim back on
	will clear the text from the screen
	shuts down your Instant Messenger session
