Publishing?

The days of me performing in bands have become a bore. Done it for ten years now.

 

Ive put some of my material in licensing/sync companies and ive released a few singles digitally through small labels.

 

BUT WHAT I REALLY WANNA KNOW IS???

Is there a library/company I can submit songs where other artists/labels wanna use and re record and i either sell my copyright or retain it and get royalities.

 

Basically I wanna be a songwriter..

 

Is this publishing? I very lost on this. Please help..

What you are talking about sounds like/is a publishing deal... I would say approach small/independent companies and also make sure you are signed up to PRS/PPL etc.... There's quite a few synch companies out there so keep plugging them with music..
