Record Label- From across the Pond

Recently I decided it was time to start my own record label.  For the past four years I have been networking and making connections with booking agents, bands, venues, radio hosts all across the United States.  I have the necessary means to be a publishing and touring label.

Then, an idea occurred. That idea is to propose to either existing labels, or people aspiring label makers that we form a partnership in which the myself and whomever co-own the same label, there's just a European Branch and an American branch.  In my opinion, this would make us a lot of money and opportunities for bands.

By merging into one company. The European branch can have me book tours (even National ones), run promotion, get them all kinds of exposure which in effect means that when a band signs with us, they get opened up to two whole nations.

I have a more extensive business plan and outline.  I am a young, talented, hard-working individual who has an impeccable business sense.

Contact me, we shall talk.

I would like to thank Jonathon for bringing up a good point. If you are a band and reading this post, and the sound of a record label that will work for you in the US and Europe sounds appealing, then please leave a comment and as I will for Jonathon, I will check out and respond to every band that is in support of this idea

Good News, some of the people who have posted I have contacted and there seems to be some excitement and interest in the project. In response to this, I am going to schedule a meeting with an entertainment lawyer for some of the big timers out in LA. He's agreed to give me a crash course in the logistics of pulling off a project of this nature. I urge any of you who have responded to my forum to pass the word or link along to any friends of yours who might find this to be right up there alley. Thanks for everything so far!

Hi, My name is Jamie and I'm replying to your advert posted on uk.music-jobs.com. I'm the drummer in Olly jacobs backing band, please check out www.ollyjacob.com and let us know what you think. Any feedback/interest will be massively appreciated. We recently headlined a boutique festival alongside Example and Athlete and apeared on a bbc radio live lounge. Coming up we have some high profile gigs on the xmas light switching on circuit, which sounds a bit strange i know, but these gigs are great expoes. Olly was awarded best vocalist in his graduation year at Leeds College of music. All the musicians in the band are of a very high standard and it goes without saying, are professionally minded, determined and completely dedicated to music as a life path/career.

The sound is rock/pop, with olly playing piano and singing, in the style of Billy Joel and Elton John. The material on the site is basically recordings we did ourself and the quality is reflected in this, we have studio time booked to record a proper LP in a great studio and have a music video in the pipeline. We feel the material would be very radio friendly with the right contemporary production values.

We're already in touch with small production/pr companies but feel that with a really enthusiastic label on board, this could be a very lucrative venture.

Anyway, thanks for reading and i hope to hear from you soon!

Regards

Jamie Welsted

Hi there, I saw your advert and am really interested. I am a solo musician, composer and engineer. I was too thinking about starting up a label, though for the moment I am concentrating a bit more on my own material.

I have some stuff over www.myspace.com/kjelkeast

I am currently putting together ideas for an album and am serious about making this my career, and always have been. I am passionate about music and about performing it live.
I really value this opportunity and would love to discuss this further.

My email address is kjelkeast@hotmail.co.uk

Thank you for your time and consideration,
Kjel
