I have recently graduated from the University of Huddersfield with a 2:1 in Music Technology and Audio Systems, and have relocated to London in order to look for work experience in live sound.
My degree was production oriented, with modules focused on subjects such as Live Music Production and Recording, both of which I received A-grades for. I have always had a passion for music and have worked at many gigs throughout my time studying - most recently at Festinho festival as part of the technical crew, running stage changes and monitors on main stage and as technical support for the DJ and acoustic stages. I have a sound knowledge of musical and acoustic theory, experience rigging lighting and PA systems, loading/unloading, and driving many vehicles including SWB vans. I have worked on Front of House and Monitor sound desks for both gigs and festivals, so have plenty of experience setting up stages and backlines, and can coil an XLR cable with my eyes closed!
I would love to work in a dynamic, exciting venue where I can improve my skills and knowledge of live music further, and hopefully contribute to creating some amazing gigs in the process! Please feel free to check out my online CV and get in touch if you would like to know more information.
Thanks,
Matt Dutton
