Lee JHey everyone, i'm after some advice on buying some new studio monitors.
I'm basically quite open to ideas of any brand or size, although i do have a budget of around 350 quid. Ideally they would be Active as i only have an old amp, and one that sucks at that.
I've browsed around sites at speakers such as Genelec, Alesis, Mackie etc, and of course i will go and listen to them all at some point soon, but i wondered if anyone has any good or bad experiences they could share please? Any particular models that you swear by? Any bargain places i could order from? Would i gain / lose much by going 100 quid higher or lower (and saving for some outboard gear!).
Any help would be much appreciated.
:)

Tomas SmagesjoI only use Genelec speakers as i think they are amazing. But you could check out the Fostex PM1. They are not expensive and they're not that unreliable as many cheap studio speakers can be. (like to much bass, Treble, to little bass treble and so on..)
Good luck

Lee JCool, thanks for that :)
I'll have a look at the Fostex online as they seem to be around my budget!

bombfactoryIt's also worth noting that you'll need to give the room you are working in as much acoustic treatment as possibly on your budget.
You can spend £10,000 on monitors but if the sound is bouncing round everywhere, what you hear will not be a true reflection of what the signal from your monitors truly is.
