Just interested to find how work much people actually get through this website?

i was a paying member for many months and got nothing concrete and now its gone up to £15 a month im not sure i want to sign up for it again.

I can understand competition is high with so many going for the same offers and thats why its hard to get jobs.  A lot of the time i dont even get replies to my submissions. im pretty sure its not just me.

Im not moaning - just interested in the work people get and if there is any full time work people have received.  i know one of my mates got a job and has a full time position so it can happen!

Although i may stiill go through PRS for a cheaper deal

Hi Thomas, As we are not a recruitment agency it's impossible for us to guarantee anyone work through the site. Access to the professional networking tools and online business directory also allow you to build your own leads. I've also included a link to our testimonials page where you can read comments left by other users http://uk.music-jobs.com/testimonials.php

In hindsight, I wish I had never signed up as a majority of the jobs that come up are vaguely musical. As a musician and a sound engineer, I thought this would give me connections and contacts in the industry and would help me to find a place for work. A majority of the things are either cruise ships or internships in marketing.

All in all, I think the website is pretty poor, but it is no worse than Monster, Jobsite, IndeedJobs or any of the other career based websites. I definitely don't think we should be charged as much to use this site. I know it costs money to set up, run and what not, but for the price, you may as well just hand out CV's.

As a guy who has just finished college and is looking for jobs, I have had many replies and suggestions from employers for jobs I have applied for through Music Jobs and I think that people who flame this site for offering such a great service at such a low cost should either leave and take their custome other places and not clutter the forums with their good for nothing moaning. Jobs aren't instant, they aren't things that jusy pop up saying "Here you go, have a position here"! Oh, and don't even bother writing any inflamitary comments towards me as I will not be following this topic and am used to rude and insolent comments due to my blindness.

First of all, this is a discussion, in which I'd like to think insults based on ones impairment would never come into anything.

Whilst I share some of your views, this site is not geared up to suit everyone. Whilst this is to be expected, it is a bit difficult to come across jobs that aren't classical based or on a cruise ship. The forums are pretty cool, but it is an area that isn't very well maintained. There are a lot of groups/threads saying post your music and what not and that's all well and good.

I just expected a little more for the price. Signing up for £60 for a year seems too much for we are actually receiving. If you are having good results from this website, then you are probably one of very few, but I digress. I have seen this website improve in the last few weeks though with the amount of jobs appearing. But as with pretty much all creative industries, and especially in the current financial climate, a majority of Job's suiting to myself and I imagine many others are based in london and are usually on an internship, therefore unpaid basis. This website is far more useful than ANY other job search website, that much is true. I just expected more from them.

Thanks for this question Thomas! I was about to ask the same thing but I found this thread (I was about to start a new one). I guess we do have to network with other members here to build leads for ourselves then. I have heard some people were successful in their job search here though so you and the others might have the same luck.
