At University I gained my degree in Music and Media Management, as a great deal of this course was music events based I greatly enhanced my practical and theoretical knowledge of the music events industry. As shown on my CV I have extensive experiences in sales, event management and marketing roles at different levels and in a variety of environments. This experience has enabled me to develop strong interpersonal and organisational skills, often whilst working in a high pressure environment and I have become confident communicating with people at all levels.

Through my previous work experiences I have dealt with running and marketing numerous events at any one time. During my last year at university I was involved in the running of Development and handling the majority of its marketing whilst also running my own event, Freaks Boutique. This was a business venture which I started after spotting a gap in the market for an event of this type in Leeds. I came up with the entire concept of the event from music to themes and marketing campaigns and was able to establish a monthly event with a unique musical style. I was the sole person responsible for programming the booking of acts and also had to market this event to the student population for whom it was intended. Whilst promoting this event I used a number of tactics including flyerer’s, parade girls, online marketing and national press. Promoting my own event has given me an extremely good insight into student footfall areas and how best to attract the student market.
