About Me

My name is Lee Jarvis, I have been heavily involved in the electronic music scene for several years, and have passionate about music for as long as I can remember. I am currently working part time on the Marketing and Promotions for a UK music jobs website. With no advertising budget this involves a lot of input in the blogging scenes and social networking to raise awareness, and a lot of originality! I have also promoted my own music events for nearly five years now. Sometimes for charity (most successful was £2,800 for Cancer Research in 2006), and more often for profit and my own career development. I also DJ and produce electronic music, which comes from a background of many years of absorbing music, it being my first passion in life. I currently have some good support from high profile DJs, not only in the UK but also the US scene, mainly Chicago based funnily enough. The production work also stems from a two year London college course in Music Technology, which touched on all aspects from recording to business and many more. I have also worked with Record labels for the last 3 years. Mainly in product/ artist and event promotion, but also, at my current label, i help with the digital distribution, and the changes in the digital world are a huge interest for me. I am keen to learn much more and adapt as the market changes. Which leads to, lastly, that I will also be studying an online Music Business course at Berklee College in the US, covering The Future of Music and Media, Marketing and much more, and hopefully leading all the way to a full Masters.
