I am currently working for Gilles Peterson's Brownswood Recordings. My roles here vary and I have gained a good knowledge of a number of different aspects of running an independent record label. I have been particularly heavily involved in the digital marketing side of things, both for the label and Gilles Peterson. Working at Brownswood has given me a real insight into the the music industry and how it all works.

I am a founding member of a recently launched website called www.takeflightclub.com. We are a team of young creatives whom use the Internet to keep everyone in the loop of what’s cutting it in the world of arts, from music to film to fashion. This has called for excellent organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently on my own as well as part of a team.
The site is going really well and we have big plans for it in the future.

I graduated from Anglia Ruskin University studying Creative Music Technology with a 2:1. The course equipped me with a wide variety of skills for use in the world of music and technology. My main areas of focus were music for digital media (TV, Commercials), sound design, installations for live performance building using Max MSP and electronic composition. I am keen to take the skills i have gained at university and put them to practice in a professional environment. I am also a spoken word/MC/rap artist and work on my own music. I cater to all styles from HipHop to drum and bass, dubstep to house. Writing lyrics and live performance are two of my main passions within music. I have had a great deal of experience in organising and promoting my own club nights as well and from a young age have been organising successful events in and around my local area and at university.

• April 2009 – Present – Brownswood Recordings/Gilles Peterson – Intern. Whilst working at Brownswood, I have acquired experience in all aspects of running an independent record label and have gained great insights into the music industry including digital marketing, licensing, promotion, distribution and artist management. I am also responsible for editing Gilles Peterson’s podcasts and maintaining his online presence.
• Aug 2008 – December 2008 – Ware Road Day Care Centre, Hertford – Receptionist and Administration. Work included pay monitoring, client billing, checking and processing orders, counting and processing all daily income, using the client database for various tasks and general reception duties.
• Feb 2007 – July 2008 - French Connection, Cambridge - Sales/Stockroom assistant
• Dec 2007 – Hum Music, Camden, London – Work Experience. Whilst working at Hum, I was asked to carry out a wide variety of office and studio duties, this ranged from sending audio files to customers mobile phones via ‘Csoft’ and dealing with orders, managing and uploading files to the database. Corresponding with possible clients and potential sources of publicity, general product and market research, reorganising the studio racks.
